Writers meet at ‘Rhythms of Nature’

AS PART OF the solo exhibition ‘Rhythms of Nature’ by Stella Sevastopoulos (June 24-25 at the Pnevmatiki Estia Voulas) on Sunday, June 25, 7-8 p.m. four writers will meet in the exhibition space (Ifigenia Amorgianou, Nikos Sevastopoulos, Maria Paravantes and Tania Kollias), for a short discussion on their books and their inspiration, and also to share with us excerpts from their writings.

Ifigenia Amorgianou has published 5 novels and 2 poetry collections (in Greek), which take place in the modern era with social and psychological ramifications. She tells her stories with tenderness, passion and imagination. Her books are on sale at the E. Tsanakakis bookstore (11A Harilaou Trikoupi St, Athens) and can be ordered at other bookstores.

Nikos Sevastopoulos has published two books about the history of Samos, and an autobiography entitled Memories from the Journey of my Life and Experiences from Samos and Abroad (in Greek), in which he describes his life in Karlovasi (Samos), Athens, Malta, and London. Also included are some more humorous life stories. His books are available at the Politeia bookstore (1-3 Asklipiou St, Athens).

Maria Paravantes is a journalist and founder of the TheGreekVibe.com. Her first book (in Greek) O Pezodromos (The Boardwalk) is a collection of 10 heartwarming stories that explore the hidden energies behind our everyday routines; the very same energies that can make a difference in the lives of those around us when we are in spirit, in harmony, acting out of love. ‘O Pezodromos’ (The Boardwalk) can be found via the following link: https://bit.ly/3n1mGUA

In her book From Asyrmatos to Canada: An 80-year journey (in English), journalist Tania Kollias tells the story of her father, Nick Kollias. Fatherless at the age of 6, he grew up in the refugee ‘ghetto’ on the hill next to the Acropolis, sailed to Canada at 17, bucked tradition to marry an Englishwoman, then thrived from his trades. A story of true grit and kindness. Υou can find her book via the following link: https://www.amazon.com/Asyrmatos-Canada-80-year-Tania-Kollias/dp/1679043315
