Nikolakopoulou’s ‘Inner Triumph’ at the MCF

THE SOLO exhibition of Epy Nikolakopoulou will be inaugurated on Tuesday, November 7, at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation (MCF), at 7pm. The exhibition, entitled ‘Inner Triumph’, runs till November 30.

Nikolakopoulou has said of her artistic process: “One day, that seems not so long ago, I felt the need to ‘track’ the path that the thousands of thoughts cause in my brain and the effects they create, to track the introversion & extroversion. Undoubtedly, when I paint I distance myself and follow inner paths, difficult to understand even for me. As a person I am a loner, like most artists, but in my own way, I really love life and what I believe it has to offer. Light, color and shape, but also the lack of them, is an exciting experience”.

The Head of the Historical Archive-Museum of Hydra, Senior Head of the Argosaronic Archives, Dina Adamopoulou notes about Nikolakopoulou’s art and the exhibition:

“When the moment arrives to meet in the same place with an excellent artist-creator, this moment is magical, I would say dreamlike…[…]

Paintings and sculptures, true testimonies of the artist’s soul, expressions of her passion and love for true art, works that, through their expressive multi-colour, the transparency of the materials used, the light and, in many cases, their texture, give another dimension to beings and things.

A true child of Hydra, Epy belongs to the cases of those creators who, with their own artistic vision, dare to tear out scenes from nature from its animal and plant kingdom, those that the historic island offers in abundance and then sculpts, recreates them, impressive and colorful always, and supports them in the foundations of her soul..

Epy Nikolakopoulou has a unique ability to forge her own personal style in her works, sometimes leaning towards pop art, but always with her own, special sensitivity and style.”
