THALIA GALLERY says goodbye to 2023 with an exhibition entitled ‘Myths and Legends around the World’, which opens on the 1st of December. It gathers together the works of three artists who use very different materials and techniques, but who are joined by a similar sensibility. This group exhibition aims to immerse the viewer in time and space, in order to discover paintings, sculptures of marble and metal, plus unique book sculptures.

Christoforos Makris (born 1981) is a minimalist and expressionist painter. Christoforos invites the viewer to rethink humankind’s place in nature. Echoing his origins from Meteora, his unique vision of the world takes us on a journey between immensity and smallness, strength and weakness. He transforms the world to express feelings and emotions, where your eyes will always be able to discern hope and light.

Alexandros Georgiou (born 1993) is an abstract and expressionist marble sculptor. Alexandros is the third generation of traditional sculptors. As well as participating in the family tradition, Alexandros has developed his own style through the use of marbles and metals. Inspired by the infinite shapes and colours of the natural world, he translates them into his own compositions to capture the essence of natural beauty and movement.

Eleftheria Gerari (born 1956) is an expressionist book sculptor. Eleftheria selects books in the same way as she would select the finest canvases and paintbrushes. From each book she creates a new and unique story. Each book is brought to life and transformed in a unique way as it shares her truth. More than just a book folder, Eleftheria destructures and restructures them, building new images, adding life and elements to transform them into a new scene.
Through the group exhibition, Myths and Legends around the World, we want to demonstrate the existence of a shared sensibility emanating from, for and by humanity.
