THE EXHIBITION “The Thoughts of God” brings together the multidimensional visual narratives of its artists, with the aim of creating a journey of discovery and understanding of the universe and its balances. The exhibition is part of CHEAPARTWEEK 2024, and is inspired by the The Thoughts of God: Practical Steps to a Theory of Everything , written by Don Lincoln and published in The Physics Teacher Magazine, 2017. Lincoln argues that it doesn’t matter what your opinion is about religion, whether you are a fervent follower of it or an apologist for atheism. For Lincoln, the phrase “the thoughts of God” is a delightful poetic expression. It represents, in a metaphorical way, nothing less than the understanding of the deepest and most fundamental laws of the universe. Specifically, the aim is that one day we will be able to explain the entire kaleidoscope of matter and phenomena we see as we look around us, from how birds fly, to how an iceberg floats, to how the sun burns, as arising from a small number of building blocks and perhaps even a single force. “The Thoughts of God” exhibition at CHEAPARTWEEK is curated by Despina Pantazi.
Participanting artists: Olga Mantzourani Andrikopoulou, Irini Archontaki, Dora Konsta, Despina Pantazi, Spyros Romanos, Chrysoula Skepetzi.

A bit more about CHEAPARTWEEK 2024
“CHEAPARTWEEK 2024: Let’s Connect” brings together more than 120 visual artists, curators, performance artists, actors, musicians, directors, and composers, collaborating on a major artistic production, an adventure of art, experimentation, discovery, networking, and exchange of ideas. For 10 days, from December 13 to 23, over 800 artworks and 7 curatorial proposals are showcased across 7 floors of CHEAPART’s building at 66 Zooodochou Pigis, in the heart of Exarchia. The Athenian public will also experience a vibrant program of 20+ performances, along with experimental music and sound events, featuring emerging and established artists from Greece and abroad.
Communication is the key to the promotion and spread of the arts and culture, connecting the artist with the artwork and the audience. From its inception to today, CHEAPART emphasizes communication by bringing fresh and innovative ideas that lead the way. Technology today has seemingly made communication easier, yet more impersonal at the same time. CHEAPART addresses this by facilitating direct interactions between artists and curators, where new collaborations can develop.

CHEAPARTWEEK represents the connection of a community of artists and art lovers that continuously evolves, creates, and functions much like a living organism. It develops in response to contemporary circumstances, fostering relationships, collaborations, and solutions that serve as pioneering examples for their era. Showcasing contemporary art and artists through its diverse platforms is one of CHEAPART’s most significant contributions to the contemporary Greek art scene. The extensive and multidimensional, program that connects Greek and international artists includes not only CHEAPARTWEEK but also the annual artistic review Back to Athens, Athens Intersection, ARTmART in Vienna, and festivals like the Zig Zag Festival. CHEAPART makes the process of discovering art a more exciting experience by hosting exhibitions in buildings that have defined the Athenian landscape for the past 100 years. This exploration has revealed a hidden picture of Athens; those who have undertaken this journey have gained insight into the city’s history through its buildings.
- CHEAPARTWEEK runs through December 23, 2024. Open 16:00 – 21:00, Sat./ Sun., 14:00 – 21:00. 66 Zoodochou Pigis st., Exarheia, Athens, 10681
