ANTONIA IROIDOU is a Greek contemporary artist whose work stands out for its sensitivity, emotional rhythm, and rare ability to transform memory into color and form. Her artistic voice resonates with timeless simplicity and poetic power. She returns to Tsantilis Art Gallery with a new series of works, in a solo exhibition entitled ‘ONCE UPON A TIME’, which opens on Friday, December 5, 7-10pm.
The art series ‘ONCE UPON A TIME’ by Antonia Iroidou is a tribute to a world that is slowly fading away, leaving behind indelible traces of memory and culture. Through the forms, tools, gestures, and silences of old professions, the artist seeks to preserve what remains of an era when work was a personal affair, intertwined with identity, artistry, and community.

The chestnut seller, the fisherman, the postman, the kiosk owner, figures once familiar to older generations, now almost unknown to the younger ones. The protagonists of these works are not merely tradesmen, but carriers of another kind of everyday life, where time flowed differently and labor had a soul. Antonia Iroidou’s work stands out for its delicacy of line, its emotional rhythm, and her unique ability to transform memory into color and form. With sensitivity and balance, she combines retro aesthetics with a contemporary artistic gaze, creating a body of work that serves as a bridge between yesterday and today.
The exhibition ‘ONCE UPON A TIME’ is not merely a journey into the past, but a reminder that everything which fades away leaves behind stories worth telling. Iroidou’s artistic collaborations include features and appearances in British Vogue, Gala Magazine, Portes Magazine, Tuborg Project and Samsung, while her exhibitions have spanned Greece, Great Britain, and Cyprus. In Athens, she has exhibited repeatedly at the Tsantilis Art Gallery, including the acclaimed ‘Glorious Immortality’ exhibition.
