SCULPTOR George Petrides, The International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP), and the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) are pleased to partner to offer a three-month residency for a Greek visual artist. The inaugural, fully-funded program will be offered from October 1 – December 31, 2027, and includes a monthly stipend for accommodations, living expenses, and materials.
George Petrides has stated the following about this opportunity: “I want the residency to be about more than just time in the studio. I want you to experience everything New York has to offer: the exhibitions, the conversations, and the connections with artists, curators, and gallerists. And I want you to return to Greece with experiences and relationships that will continue to make a difference in your work.”
ISCP is a leading visual arts residency program for artists and curators from around the world. With 35 artists and curators in residence, the program provides opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and collaboration as well as the space, time, and support to develop new projects. Since 1994, it has hosted more than 2,000 artists and curators, including 13 Greek artists. Eleven of its alumni are participating in the 2026 Venice Biennale.

With additional activities tailored for professional development and public engagement, ISCP serves as an important platform for producing, presenting and contextualizing contemporary art through a diverse range of international perspectives. ISCP’s public programs encourage dialogue and integrate residents into the cultural landscape of New York City. The residency program includes 24/7 access to a private, furnished studio space; a minimum of one, one-hour meeting per month with visiting critics; field trips to museums, galleries, and other cultural venues; potential participation in a public talk; and Fall Open Studios.
George Petrides is an internationally recognized sculptor based in Athens and New York. Forty permanent public works are installed or being installed across eight countries in corporate, cultural, government, educational, hospital, religious, and private settings (www.petrides.art). His traveling exhibition, Hellenic Heads: Legacy and Renewal has been presented in eight cities between 2022 and 2026—with over 100,000 attendees. His next touring exhibition, Sulala — Lineage of the Future (sulala.art), will be presented in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia beginning in 2027.
