ITALIAN ARTIST Lorenzo Conforti’s fist solo exhibition in Greece will be inaugurated on Thursday 22 October, 19:00–22:00, Entitled Tempo Rubato, the exhibition will run from 22 October to 4 December 2026. The exhibition features new paintings alongside a drawing created specifically for the space and a small bronze sculpture of drumsticks embedded in the wall, referencing the artist’s relationship with music.
The exhibition takes its title from the musical technique tempo rubato, in which time is borrowed from one note and given to another, allowing a musical phrase to accelerate or slow down without altering the overall duration of the piece. Something similar occurs throughout the exhibition: while its individual elements remain unstable, it maintains its balance as a whole.

At the heart of Lorenzo Conforti’s painting practice is the composition of forms drawn from different organic anatomies. Working from photographs of human bodies, animals and plants, the artist isolates individual elements, such as a shoulder in motion, an animal’s hip mid-stride or a trunk bending under its own weight, and creates hybrid compositions that belong to no particular species. Through this process, the original forms are detached from their natural context and reassembled into new, almost abstract images, where the boundaries between the human, the animal and the vegetal remain fluid.

Lorenzo Conforti (b. 1996, Tolentino, lives and works between Milan and Tolentino, Italy) develops a painterly practice rooted in the fusion of images drawn from heterogeneous organic anatomies. Raised between music and graffiti writing, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino, where he cofounded the collective Hardchitepture (2019–2024), dedicated to the exploration of environmental and scenographic installation, before completing his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan.
